About the Role
A bank with a strong APAC focus seeks an experienced Legal Counsel to join its team in Singapore. The role involves providing legal advice on banking products, drafting and negotiating loan documentation and commercial agreements.

Responsibilities
- Provide timely, practical, and commercially sound legal advice on a broad range of banking products, services, and operational matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate various loan documentation, commercial agreements, client documentation, vendor contracts, and other legal instruments
- Identify and assess legal risks associated with business activities, new initiatives, and transactions, proposing effective mitigation strategies
- Contribute to the development and implementation of internal legal policies, procedures, and training programs
- Liaise and coordinate with relevant internal stakeholders and external counsels where necessary
- Report and escalate potential legal risk issues to senior management
Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree
- Qualified banking and finance lawyer with minimum 5 years PQE
- Experience gained within legal department of a bank or financial institution, or from a reputable law firm specializing in banking and finance
- Strong analytical, drafting, and legal research skills
