Position Overview
Prepare or approve fully compliant legal invoices based on client payer billing guidelines.
Work in managed services supporting legal and professional service firms.
Essential Job Functions
- Prepare legal invoices and pre-bills to ensure compliance with firm client guidelines.
- Follow matter-specific instructions and review deviations from customary billing practices.
- Review automatic system changes and manually review all invoice line entries.
- Generate invoice preparation reports and analyze results to create action items.
- Use legal expertise to assess staffing, timing, necessity, and reasonableness of time spent.
- Communicate with law firms to obtain clarification, documentation, or consultation.
- Work with billing, administrative, and accounting personnel to document timely invoice processes.
Position Expectations
- At least 2 years of insurance defense, workers' compensation defense, or direct insurance company experience is required.
- Demonstrate client service, problem solving, sound judgment, discretion, organization, and attention to detail.
- Communicate effectively and build relationships in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Read and understand billing guidelines, court documents, and court rules.
