About Us

The School of Engineering at Macquarie University is rapidly expanding the capacity and impact of its research and education frameworks. As a comprehensive school, our expertise spans civil, environmental, mechanical, mechatronic, biomedical, electrical, and electronic engineering.

This year, we established our operations in a brand-new, $150 million education and research precinct: the Engineering Innovation Building. This facility features state-of-the-art spaces designed specifically for immersive, team-based design and manufacturing projects, alongside specialist laboratories hosting our highly ranked research groups.

As part of the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE), we nurture the next generation of technology innovators, supporting nearly 9,000 students across our programs. Our research and teaching directly address the critical challenges faced by global society—including infrastructure resilience, autonomous systems, future materials, and sustainable energy.
