Position Summary
The Learning Mentor will be a collaborative partner with an instructional team servicing students in an online environment.
Learning Mentors serve as a parent liaison, communicate with students, helping to ensure the success of each student.
Students will work with Learning Mentors to establish and achieve goals, and participate with other students in interactive team-building activities.
Qualifications
Education/Certification: Must meet one of the following:
- At least 60 hours of college: or
- Documented successful, relevant work experience as a mentor/coach for youth, established by at least three years of employment in a specific field or occupation that required the facilitator to demonstrate knowledge or skill in mentoring/coaching young people; or
- Significant experience in a volunteer capacity with youth programs to be equivalent to three years of employment demonstrating knowledge or skill in mentoring/coaching young people
Additional, preferred experience to be considered:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience with web-conferencing
