Essential Functions:

1. Leads and manages all LSS portfolio of projects including the selection of projects, training and development of Green/Black belts, application of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and program development initiatives and events.
2. Provides coaching, support, and training to individual contributors in order to incorporate Six Sigma methodology and analytics into organizational operations, accomplish business objectives, promote adoption and improvement of LSS methods and practice.
3. Works with VP Strategy, Planning, Data, Innovation to assess and develop consistent LSS program objectives, goals, and scope. Identify projects within the program to continually improve best practices and process improvements.
4. Works with departmental leadership to plan and develop guidelines, targets, and standards used for maintaining business metrics, including the monitoring, and measuring of and reporting of all aspects of the LSS program deliverables and outcomes.
5. Maintains the project development, completion, and implementation schedule by working with the IT business relations consultants to see that requirements are completed, signed off and delivered as required by the project schedule.
6. Coordinates the business side activities necessary for the completion of business plans affected by LSS projects. Serve as the primary contact for Green/Black belts seeking clarification of methodologies and tools related to the identified projects.
7. Assists individual contributors in obtaining Project Champion, Management, and Certifying organization’s acceptance of completed LSS projects.
8. Proactively manage any vendor relationship and LSS certifying organizations to maintain current and relevant training material and tools for the program.
9. Maintains proficiency in all areas of the Lean Six Sigma program materials and tool sets.

FBL Financial Group is a multi-line Enterprise insurance company. This role will assist in leading the Lean Six Sigma program.
The LSS function is responsible for planning and coordinating the training of enterprise participants in the Lean Six Sigma program. The incumbent is responsible for mentoring and coaching of existing participants in the program, continuously driving for the finalization of projects, training of future leaders, managers and staff as needed, and incorporating Six Sigma methodology and analytics into organizational operations in order to accomplish business objectives.
Execution and delivery of the LSS strategy is critical for the FBL Enterprise to differentiate itself in a very competitive marketplace.
Internal contacts include FBL employees at all levels. External contacts include industry leaders, outside consultants, professional organizations, and other Farm Bureau companies.
Number of proposed LSS training sessions per year: 4 to 8
Approximate dollar value per Green Belt & Black Belt projects: $25,000 & $250,000
Number of proposed projects per year: Green Belt – 15; Black Belt 2 ; Expected annualized savings: $3,750,000.
