Faze 3 Consulting is seeking a freelance Lead Systems Engineer for a four-month assignment in Abu Dhabi.

The assignment may convert to a permanent role after the contract.
Assignment Terms
- The assignment is four months and full-time.
- The role is performed onsite in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Work Authorization
- Candidates must be freelancers or independent contractors with their own valid UAE residency visa.
- The position is not company-sponsored or visa-sponsored, and candidates must be able to work onsite from day one.
Core Responsibilities
- Own recurring performance, reliability, and capacity issues across servers, virtualization, storage, backup, Microsoft 365, and Azure.
- Respond to escalated incidents as a senior technical resource and address root causes.
- Plan and execute changes under proper change control.
- Contribute technical-debt and risk observations to the infrastructure roadmap.
- Document work and pair with client engineers so fixes remain effective after the assignment.
Experience Requirements
- Eight to twelve years of enterprise IT infrastructure or systems engineering experience, including recent senior hands-on delivery.
- Experience stabilizing live production environments rather than only designing greenfield environments.
- Strong Microsoft platform experience across Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Azure IaaS/PaaS.
- Virtualization and storage experience, including VMware or Hyper-V and NetApp or an equivalent platform.
- Solid backup and disaster-recovery practice.
Certifications and Processes
- Experience with ITIL-aligned incident, problem, and change management is required.
- AZ-104 or an equivalent certification is required.
- ITIL 4 Foundation certification is required.
