Role overview

The Lead System Engineer is responsible for selecting, sizing, configuring, and delivering complex power quality solutions.

The role spans customer engagement, proposal development, technical delivery, risk management, and continuous improvement across the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead selection, sizing, and configuration of power quality systems such as rotating stabilizers and STATCOM.
  • Select and size medium- and low-voltage variable-speed-drive systems and analyze power quality solutions.
  • Prepare technical documents, calculations, drawings, proposals, specifications, and contractual deliverables.
  • Develop system and protection single-line diagrams and layouts for large projects.
  • Support ITO and OTR processes with technically fit solutions and managed technical risks.
  • Analyze customer contracts, review vendor documentation, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify mitigation plans and improvements to processes, tools, systems, and equipment.
  • Work with engineering, technology, supply chain, subcontractors, suppliers, and other GE Vernova entities.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized institution.
  • At least 8 years of project or design engineering experience in power quality or variable-speed-drive systems.
  • Experience in industrial, marine, oil and gas, or power projects and application of international standards.
  • Analytical problem-solving ability, adaptability, multitasking capability, and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for project assignments.

Preferred skills

  • PLM and Primavera experience are added advantages.
  • Variable-speed-drive system experience in oil and gas applications is an added advantage.

Workplace and mobility
