Role Overview
Join WSP's Infrastructure Facilities Water/Wastewater Structural Team in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Lead structural engineering design efforts for resilient water and wastewater infrastructure.
Work with a multidisciplinary team on treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, and related facilities.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze structural systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, and retaining structures.
- Lead structural design packages using engineering software, hand calculations, and design standards.
- Prepare Bluebeam markups and coordinate with BIM teams on models and drawings.
- Conduct site inspections, structural condition assessments, and rehabilitation work.
- Provide construction support through shop drawing reviews, RFIs, and change management.
- Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Architectural disciplines.
- Mentor junior engineers and apply sound engineering judgment and ethics.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Seismic Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer designation registered with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
- Experience preparing technical memoranda, reports, proposals, and client-facing documentation.
- Strong knowledge of the listed Canadian and structural engineering codes and standards.
- Proficiency with STAAD.Pro, S-FRAME, and CSI software suites, with working knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud and Revit.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for site visits and field inspections.
Work Setting
- The role is based in Vancouver and includes site visits and field inspections as required.
- Some safety-sensitive fieldwork may involve remote or isolated areas, working alone, and inclement weather within safe limits.
Compensation
- The listed compensation range for British Columbia and specified western and northern provinces is $135,200 to $179,100.
- Final compensation may vary based on education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, and organizational needs.
