Role Overview
Lead Structural Engineer responsible for independent technical design review on major building projects.
The role requires a strong background in steel structures, advanced structural systems, and structural design assurance.
The position is listed for Abu Dhabi or Dubai, UAE.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead independent technical design reviews of complex steel and reinforced concrete building structures.
- Assess long-span structures, complex connections, composite systems, steel trusses, and atypical structural configurations.
- Perform self-check calculations and verify structural safety, stability, and compliance.
- Identify required design modifications and provide technical recommendations and certification where required.
- Review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, assumptions, and supporting technical documentation.
- Assess soil-structure interaction, settlement predictions, lateral soil pressures, and structural-geotechnical compatibility.
- Review unitized and stick facades, steel-supported facades, tension structures, and cladding support frames.
- Ensure designs comply with SBC, AISC, ASCE, ACI, BS/Eurocodes, IBC, and ASTM.
- Prepare design review reports, technical memoranda, correspondence, and technical recommendations.
