Position Summary
The Lead Structural Design Engineer will lead the internal design team and oversee structural design strategy and engineering practices.
The role coordinates with erection teams, project managers, clients, consultants, and vendors to deliver safe, cost-effective, and innovative solutions.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design team through task allocation, technical reviews, and mentoring.
- Perform structural analysis and design using MIDAS, STAAD.Pro, ANSYS, and AutoCAD.
- Review and approve drawings, models, calculations, BOQs, and design documentation.
- Ensure compliance with IS, IRC, Eurocode, and AASHTO standards.
- Validate structures for heavy lifting, transportation, and erection operations.
- Optimize solutions for cost, efficiency, sustainability, and constructability.
- Support execution with detailed drawings, erection methodologies, and real-time problem-solving.
Collaboration and Innovation
- Represent the design department in client meetings, design reviews, and audits.
- Establish best practices, templates, and design protocols.
- Lead R&D in modular design, lightweight structures, alternate materials, self-erecting systems, and transportation systems.
- Stay current with structural engineering technologies, tools, and software.
Required Qualifications
- M.Tech or B.E./B.Tech in structural or civil engineering.
- At least 8 years of structural design experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Expert-level skills in MIDAS Civil, ANSYS, and STAAD.Pro.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Experience designing bridges, marine structures, heavy steel erections, or offshore/onshore platforms.

- Deep knowledge of structural analysis and design for static and dynamic loads.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work under tight timelines and manage design risks proactively.
- Exposure to EPC or turnkey contracting environments.
- Familiarity with construction practices, equipment loads, and heavy lifting methodologies.
- Comfort with field visits and on-site coordination.
