Lead Software Engineer – .NET, Cloud, AI

Role Overview

Location and Work Mode

• The role is listed for Bangalore or Mumbai.
• The work mode is hybrid, with shift timing from 12PM IST to 9PM IST.

Technical Leadership and Architecture

• Serve as a domain expert in .NET, distributed systems, API architecture, and cloud-native design.
• Lead high-performance Web API, microservices, event-driven, and agentic AI solution design and development.
• Define platform blueprints, patterns, and long-term technical direction.
• Make architectural decisions and guide teams toward scalable and secure solutions.
• Drive code quality, performance optimization, and engineering best practices.

AI-Driven Engineering

• Lead AI and agentic workflow adoption across development, QA, and DevOps.
• Build AI agents for development, testing, performance analysis, SAST/DAST automation, and workflow optimization.
• Demonstrate measurable improvements in cycle time, test coverage, or delivery speed.
• Mentor teams on prompt engineering and AI-assisted development.
• Use tools such as Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Copilot, Claude, Cursor, and modern agent frameworks.

Engineering Delivery

• Lead complex development across multiple microservices and disconnected architectures.
• Conduct deep-dive code reviews, performance tuning, and architectural assessments.
• Solve technical problems spanning API design, SQL optimization, and cloud scalability.
• Ensure quality delivery across design, development, testing, deployment, and observability.

Collaboration and Influence

• Advise product, architecture, and leadership teams on technical matters.
• Influence engineering culture, standards, and strategic technology decisions.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mentor senior engineers and foster innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Technical Requirements

• 10–14+ years of software engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and expertise.
• Expertise in C#, .NET Core, Web API, LINQ, Entity Framework, MVC, and microservice architectures.
• Advanced SQL performance tuning and experience with complex, multi-tier systems.
• Experience designing and maintaining large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems.
• Strong Azure experience, including Function Apps, API Management, App Services, and DevOps pipelines.
• Experience with prompt engineering, agentic AI SDLC patterns, and AI agent development.
• Knowledge of Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI Service, and modern AI/ML frameworks.

Leadership and Qualifications

• Strong grounding in SOLID principles, design patterns, and architectural decision-making.
• Ability to mentor senior engineers and uplift team capability.
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex concepts into actionable insights.
• A bachelor's degree in IT or a related field is preferred.
• Financial services or KYC/AML experience is described as ideal.
