Lead the design and delivery of modern software and AI-enabled solutions across varied client environments.
The role combines deep engineering capability with consulting and delivery skills.
The consultant will work across cloud-native application development, architecture, AI-assisted engineering and AI-enabled products.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical conversations with clients and shape solutions under ambiguous conditions.
- Guide delivery outcomes end to end while remaining hands-on with architecture, coding and implementation.
- Support and mentor engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to pre-sales, estimation and solution proposals.
- Balance speed, quality and commercial outcomes across enterprise and startup delivery environments.
Technical Skills
- At least 12 years of commercial software engineering experience.
- Full-stack engineering across modern back-end and front-end ecosystems.
- Modern software architecture, distributed systems, testing, CI/CD and DevOps.
- Cloud-native platforms, infrastructure as code, containerisation and deployment automation.
- AI tooling for software delivery, AI-enabled applications, LLMs, RAG architectures and agentic workflows.
- Agile and lean delivery practices, including backlog shaping and iterative delivery.
Consulting Skills
- Experience leading technical projects and engineering teams end to end.
- Client engagement, stakeholder management, workshops, discovery sessions and technical discussions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Systems thinking, problem-solving, adaptability and comfort with ambiguity.
- Passion for mentoring, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of commercial software engineering experience.
- Strong full-stack engineering capability across modern back-end and front-end ecosystems, with experience in one or more relevant languages or frameworks.
- Strong understanding of modern software architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience designing and delivering solutions from concept through production.
- Strong understanding of testing, CI/CD, DevOps and engineering quality practices.
- Commercial experience with cloud-native platforms, infrastructure as code, containerisation and deployment automation.
- Commercial experience using AI tooling to improve software delivery and engineering workflows.
- Experience building or integrating AI-enabled applications, including practical experience with LLMs, RAG architectures or agentic workflows.
- Strong understanding of Agile and lean delivery practices, including backlog shaping, milestone definition and iterative delivery.
- Experience leading technical projects and engineering teams end to end.
- Strong client engagement, stakeholder management, communication and presentation capability.
- Current working rights in Australia.
