• We have an exciting opportunity to join the Fortescue Metals Corporate Development team as Lead Principal – Corporate Development.
• Fortescue is actively growing and diversifying its global metals portfolio. Following the recent acquisitions of Red Hawk Mining and Alta Copper, this role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to Fortescue's next phase of growth.
• You will support the Corporate Development team to identify, pursue and negotiate a range of transactions, including corporate acquisitions, earn-in joint ventures and other partnerships. Your remit will span the full Metals business, including value-accretive opportunities in the Pilbara to enhance our existing iron ore operations and global opportunities across critical minerals, with a core focus on copper.
• Reporting to the Senior Manager Corporate Development, you will be part of a small, high-performing team and work closely with senior leaders and subject matter experts across Exploration, Technical, Finance, Legal and other functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake financial modelling and valuation activities, working closely with technical experts and incorporating due diligence findings
• Closely follow merger and acquisition activity in the metals sector, identifying market trends and positioning Fortescue to participate in opportunities
• Research and screen investment opportunities
• Analyse strategic opportunities and develop commercial strategies and transaction structures
