Role Overview

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform drive and filter sizing, hardware design, loss budget calculations, earth and protection circuit design, arc flash calculations, and root-cause analysis.
• Use calculations, modeling, and simulations to realize product and project requirements.
• Design systems and equipment for reliability, testing, manufacturability, material, and cost requirements.
• Prepare and validate configurations, operating principles, application guidelines, specifications, BOMs, single-line diagrams, and drawings.
• Verify prototype hardware under specified operating conditions.
• Support manufacturing at factory and vendor facilities.
• Document functional test requirements and conduct tests to applicable UL and IEC standards, including project factory acceptance tests.
• Coordinate execution with system engineers and program, product, and project managers.
• Travel may be required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• At least 10 years of power electronics design and testing experience for industrial drives.

Preferred Experience and Characteristics

• Experience with electrical design and simulation tools such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, and MATLAB/Simulink.
• In-depth knowledge of motors and drive control systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and guide team members.
• Self-starter who works effectively within and between teams and independently.
• Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse and highly matrixed environment.
