Role Overview
The Lead Platform Engineer will be the senior technical lead responsible for the non-data foundations of Apollo, Medialab's marketing intelligence platform.
The role owns the platform, application, and developer-experience side of Apollo while working with the Head of Data and Engineering on architecture and long-term direction.
This is a hands-on, Python-first role combining strategic technical decisions, production coding, standards, and support for other engineers.

The Lead Platform Engineer will be the senior technical lead responsible for the non-data foundations of Apollo, Medialab's marketing intelligence platform.
The role owns the platform, application, and developer-experience side of Apollo while working with the Head of Data and Engineering on architecture and long-term direction.
This is a hands-on, Python-first role combining strategic technical decisions, production coding, standards, and support for other engineers.
Hybrid working
- The role follows a hybrid working model with three days in the office.
- Flexible working arrangements may be requested from the commencement of employment.
Platform and application engineering
- Own the technical quality, structure, and evolution of all non-data Apollo components.
- Lead core applications and internal tools, including production UIs built with Python-centric stacks such as FastAPI, Jinja, HTMX, and Tailwind.
- Guide decisions across backend services, APIs, application architecture, security, and production code quality.
- Ensure the platform, applications, infrastructure, and developer workflow follow appropriate security standards, including for AI assistants and agents.
