Your main responsibilities
- As a Lead Mechanical Engineer , you will work in collaboration with the Mechanical Design Team in our Englobe Saskatoon office .
- Require to have HVAC design experince in comercial, industrial, and muti-family residential buildings;
- Working closely with the Mechanical Team Lead to learn the responsibilities of the role with the intention that the Senior Mechanical Engineer will transstion to the role of the Mechanical Team Lead.
- Actrively participate in business development including building client base, proposal writing, reviewing public tender sites for RFPs, initiating client interactions and attending industry events.
- Actively participates in all projects, providing leadership, client input/feedback, and general direction;
- Working with the design team on the project, develops and monitors mechanical design strategies for building construction to ensure efficient and sustainable project delivery;
- Develops relationships with clients, industry affiliates, engineers, technologists, technicians, and construction personnel;
- Meet with clients regarding projects, progress reporting, and the resolution of issues, as required;
- Oversees the entire project life cycle, from preliminary services through project implementation, including coordination of administrative and financial aspects;
- Coordinates the preparation of engineering specifications and drawings, quantity and opinions on probability of cost;
- Ultimately responsible for ensuring the mechanical drawings and specifications meet established project criteria and applicable standards;
- Develops standards related to our mechanical engineering practice, ensuring best practices for project management and delivery;
- Utilization of industry specific software and related technologies in design and analysis;
- Preparation of reports, proposals, and tender/bid submissions, budgets, project plans, and other supporting documentation, as required;
- When necessary, involvement with a variety of agencies for project approvals and permitting purposes;
- Estimating and scheduling of projects, including close out review, and update / maintenance of company-related data and resources;
- Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules.
- What makes you unique
- Required to have a P.Eng. from a recognized post-secondary institution, in the area of mechanical HVAC design (Engineering, CAD Design, Technologies, or Project Management).
- 10 + years of direct experience in mechanical design engineering for commercial, institutional, muti-family, and light indutrial HVAC or equivalent experience and responsibilities is required; A comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel, along with AutoCAD drafting experience are required. Experience with Revit would be considered an asset;
- Excellent command of English grammar, spelling and composition, as well as oral communication and interpersonal skills;
- Professional, energetic and action-oriented;
- Strong organization, time management, and prioritization skills;
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills;
- Ability to work individually and as a team member, within a dynamic, fast-paced, deadline driven environment;
- Effectively manages a variety of projects and/or initiatives, often occurring simultaneously;
- Able to balance work and personal requirements;
- Sense of humour;
- Enjoys working in a professional office environment, with occasional client and/or site visits, and is able to work outside of normal business hours, when necessary.
