• Engage closely with NAM IT leadership to understand their monitoring /observability setup, gather requirements and drive changes / solution to help with their adoption of TOM platform and event management policies.
• Design and develop next-generation observability features using modern technologies like Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and cloud-native tools in an agile environment on Linux and Windows platforms
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design through testing and deployment
• Collaborate in a global agile team environment using modern development practices, participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Build and maintain scalable, reliable monitoring solutions that support Nomura's global infrastructure
• Contribute to architectural decisions that influence the future direction of Nomura's observability platform
• Contribute to technical initiatives to transform Nomura's monitoring capabilities, working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions
• Champion observability best practices across the organization, helping teams leverage data-driven insights to improve system reliability and performance
• Partner with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to optimize operational efficiency and enhance system resilience
• Mentor and guide other engineers, sharing your software engineering best practices, and expertise in monitoring and observability patterns

- Requirements (indicate mandatory and/or preferred) :
Mandatory
- Java 8+, and Python Experience (3+ years)
- Experience of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI
- Relational database experience, e.g. MySQL
- Competent working in a Linux environment
- Experience using unit and integration testing frameworks, e.g. Junit, Mockito
- Agile development experience, understanding of the SDLC process
- Strong communication – presenting and documentation
- Strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills, with the ability to exercise mature judgement
- Experience peer-reviewing code and continuous improvement initiatives
- Fluency in English with strong written & verbal communication skills
Preffered
- Experience with monitoring & observability tools
- Experience with integration technologies such as Spring, Protobuff, JSON, REST APIs
- Experience of PowerShell scripting
- Experience using Tools in the AI landscape such as Claude to multiply productivity and building reliable, scalable, observable tools/applications.
- Public Cloud experience – AWS
- Infrastructure as Code, e.g. Terraform
- Understanding of Production Support processes within a large enterprise
- Experience working with a globally dispersed team
