The Critical Facility Technician Journeyman - HVAC supports mission-critical, data center, and commercial mechanical operations across Warrenton, VA, and the surrounding Northern Virginia market.

This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, documentation, and customer-facing HVAC support while maintaining strict safety, quality, and uptime standards.

This position is designed for an experienced HVAC journeyman who can work independently, support critical facility operations, communicate effectively with customers and leadership, and help ensure mechanical systems operate safely and reliably.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on HVAC journeyman with strong commercial mechanical experience and the ability to support mission-critical customers across Warrenton and the broader Northern Virginia market.

This person should be comfortable performing PMs, troubleshooting equipment, completing repairs, using BAS/BMS systems, documenting work accurately, communicating with customers, coordinating with vendors, and protecting uptime in live critical environments.

Pay: $45.00 - $60.00/hr.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across HVAC, mechanical, electrical, refrigerant, airflow, and controls systems.
  • Ability to work independently in customer-facing commercial and mission-critical environments.
  • Strong judgment to determine when to repair, escalate, quote, or involve specialized support.
  • Ability to prioritize work based on safety, customer impact, equipment criticality, and uptime risk.
  • Comfortable working in live critical environments where communication, documentation, and procedural discipline are required.
  • Strong communication skills with customers, vendors, dispatch, technicians, and leadership.
  • Detail-oriented approach to PM records, service reports, refrigerant logs, deficiency notes, and follow-up recommendations.
  • Professional appearance, dependable attendance, and ability to represent ABM well in the field.
