Lead Estimator

This position is responsible for the overall implementation and direction for the assigned area of the estimating functions to provide services, procedures, and methods for the timely and accurate issuance of estimates and supporting documentation to the lead project estimator, project manager and client. Responsible for coordinating and providing high-quality cost estimates. Understands the overall scope of work of the project, technical parameters and specifications of equipment & packages and bulk items, required for developing the cost estimates. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Responsible for personal safety as well as the safety of co-workers. Adhere to and support Fluor’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies

On small-sized or multiple projects, the individual may act independently or may direct a staff of other estimating individuals. On large/extremely large-sized projects, the individual may report to an upper-level estimator and may direct a portion of the estimating staff

Develop the estimate execution plan and coordinate estimate development with the project team

Lead the development of the total project estimate; detailed and/or conceptual

Owns the total cost estimate while presenting to management and client

Prepare the complete Basis of Estimate

Prepare the Estimate Risk Analysis and make cost contingency recommendations

Arrange and conduct the estimate reviews i.e. department, discipline, and management reviews

Participate in the presentation of the estimate to client management; learning how to sell an estimate
