Role Overview
GE Vernova is seeking an experienced and highly skilled mechanical design professional for its Vadodara large transformer team.
The role focuses on power transformer components, internal connections, internal layouts, tanks, external designs, and customer drawings.
The position requires at least 10 years of transformer design experience and fluency in English.
Key Responsibilities
- Design internal connections, internal layouts, tank structures, and external components for power transformers.
- Create and maintain customer drawings that meet applicable standards and regulations.
- Review customer specifications and develop design solutions meeting performance and safety requirements.
- Lead design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams on design issues and improvements.
- Apply DFMEA and conduct root cause analysis to improve robustness and resolve design issues.
- Use Inventor and Creo to design and optimize transformer components and systems.
- Perform FEA with tools such as ANSYS to assess structural and thermal integrity.
- Support manufacturing with design guidance, shop drawing reviews, and production issue resolution.
- Ensure designs comply with IS, ISO, IEC, IEEE, and other relevant standards.
- Support customer-facing presentations, technical clarifications, and design-related queries.
