Role and Impact
The Lead Engineer will join Xero's Internal AI Accelerator Squad and support the company's transformation into an AI-native organization.
The role embeds with internal business teams to co-design and operationalize agentic AI workflows that reduce manual work and reshape end-to-end processes.
The engineer will lead high-stakes AI agent delivery from discovery through production and help establish reusable patterns for safe intelligent automation.
Initial Focus
- Design and iterate on AI agents and workflow orchestrations using tools such as Claude, Gemini, and MCP.
- Integrate AI systems with Salesforce, Workday, Slack, and NetSuite.
- Develop reusable automation patterns and shared templates for business use.
- Build evaluation and monitoring frameworks to measure performance and support workflow safety.
Team
The Internal AI Accelerator Squad focuses on increasing adoption of agentic AI and intelligent automation across the global business.
The team works with product owners and subject matter experts to turn complex workflows into automated solutions through rapid experimentation and collaborative development.
