Lead Electrical Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Perform drive and filter sizing, loss-budget, protection and arc-flash calculations, root-cause analysis, modeling and simulations.
• Design systems and equipment to meet reliability, testing, manufacturability, material and cost requirements.
• Prepare configurations, operating principles, specifications, general arrangements, bills of materials, single-line diagrams and schematics.
• Verify prototype performance, support manufacturing, select and validate alternate components and conduct localization testing.
• Document and conduct functional tests under applicable UL and IEC standards and lead factory acceptance tests.
• Coordinate with system and program, product and project managers and mentor team members.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field.
• At least 12 years of electrical design experience for industrial drives or control panels.
• In-depth knowledge of motors and drive control systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to mentor and guide a team.
• Ability to work effectively across teams and in a culturally diverse, highly matrixed environment.

Preferred skills

• Experience with AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP or MATLAB is preferred.
• Experience with DMP is an added advantage.

Work arrangement

• The role may require travel as needed.
• Manufacturing support may take place at factory or vendor facilities.
