Lead Electrical Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Perform drive and filter sizing, hardware design, loss-budget calculations, earth and protection circuit design, arc-flash calculations, and root-cause analysis.
• Use calculations, modeling, and simulations to realize product and project requirements.
• Prepare and validate configurations, operating principles, application guidelines, specifications, BOMs, single-line diagrams, and drawings.
• Verify prototype hardware under specified operating conditions and support manufacturing at factory or vendor facilities.
• Conduct functional testing to applicable UL/IEC standards and project factory acceptance tests.
• Coordinate with system engineers and program, product, and project managers, mentor the team, and travel as required.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in power electronics, electrical engineering, or an equivalent field.
• At least 10 years of power electronics design and testing experience for industrial drives.
• In-depth knowledge of motors and drive control systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and guide a team and work effectively in a culturally diverse, highly matrixed environment.

Preferred experience

• Preferred experience with AutoCAD, EPLAN, and MATLAB/Simulink for electrical design and simulation.
