Lead Business Analyst

Location

• The role is located in Dubai, UAE.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• PBA or CBAP certification is preferred.
• ISTQB Foundation Level or an equivalent testing certification is advantageous.
• The posting requests 8+ years of business requirements documentation experience for complex processes, including senior or lead-level programme experience.
• Banking industry experience is mandatory, while UAE or GCC SME, retail, or corporate banking experience is strongly preferred.

Relevant Delivery Experience

• Hands-on experience is required in at least three functional areas, with depth in at least one: payroll or WPS, invoicing or online collections, merchant acceptance or POS, SME lending, cheque or account servicing, multi-entity access, or regulatory integration.
• Experience is required reviewing Functional Specification Documents against business requirements and closing design questions.
• Experience is required reviewing test strategies and test cases for coverage and supporting SIT and UAT.
• Experience with digital channel or digital transformation programmes using in-house and third-party providers is required.
• Core banking systems experience is required; Temenos T24 is preferred.
• AI- or automation-assisted decisioning exposure in a regulated process is advantageous.
• Agile and DevOps experience is required, with the ability to apply Agile or Waterfall as the workstream requires.

Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of project delivery lifecycles and vendor-delivered and in-house build models is expected.
• The role requires process documentation, process re-engineering, reporting, project management, and user-testing management experience.
• Experience with Agile tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, and Confluence is required.
• Microsoft Visio and MS Project experience is required, along with broader Microsoft application proficiency.
• Data visualization, business intelligence tools, and report and dashboard creation experience are required.
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills are required; Arabic is an advantage.

Technical Competencies

• The role requires analytical and conceptual thinking, detailed documentation, and the ability to critique supplier and development-team specifications.
• The role requires test strategy, test plan, test case, test data, environment readiness, and requirements coverage assessment skills.
• Process modelling using BPMN or UML and working literacy of APIs, integration patterns, and data mapping are required.
• SDLC knowledge across Agile and Waterfall delivery, stakeholder management, change management, and matrix collaboration are required.
• The role requires report creation, presentations, strategic planning, prioritization, and business acumen.

Leadership Competencies

Responsibilities

• Produce business requirements documentation, including BRDs, use cases, and functional specifications, for complex banking processes.
• Review Functional Specification Documents produced by development teams and third-party providers against approved business requirements.
• Manage open design questions and requirements traceability through the full delivery lifecycle.
• Review test strategies, test plans, and test cases for requirements coverage, entry and exit criteria, test data, and environment readiness.
• Support system integration testing and user acceptance testing within a structured TCOE or QA environment.
• Analyse and re-engineer processes and create reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and external delivery partners in a matrix organization.
• Plan and prioritize work across concurrent workstreams and mentor other Business Analysts.
