The Lead Avionics Technician is responsible to the Manager, Maintenance Operations for the overall utilization of his area, to include the supervision of production personnel.
In addition, the Lead Technician is responsible for the following:
To ensure safe work practices are followed.
To plan, direct and coordinate the activities of his areas so as to minimize delays, and increase production and efficiency.
Plans, bids, and delegates job / task duties under the department for scheduled maintenance functions, drop-in maintenance also to include back shop tasks.
Research future electrical/avionic service bulletin, A.D.’s, STC’s, & installations with regards to tooling, manpower, material needs and promote up-selling with maintenance and avionic sales manager.
Coordinates with other department leads in future and ongoing production to aid in the workflow process.
To provide training, and to assist subordinates in the proper procedures, methods and practices to be followed in each respective duty.
To make available to personnel the necessary overhaul manuals, service bulletins, airworthiness directive and other required technical data.
The maintaining of all equipment and tools in a serviceable and working condition.
For ascertaining that all necessary work records are properly executed by the responsible person.

The preservation of all units or parts during process through the facility and after work is completed.
The initiation of requisitions for stock and materials as required.
The Lead Technician will be properly certificated in accordance with FAR Part 65.
High School/GED
A&P certification a plus
FCC General Operator's License a plus
Generally, at least 8 years of experience or greater in area of responsibility
