Role Overview
The company is seeking a Lead Architectural Engineer for offshore, marine, shipbuilding, and oil and gas projects.
The role leads architectural engineering and design activities for offshore structures, marine facilities, vessels, and related projects.
The position ensures compliance with project specifications, international codes, class requirements, and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architectural design, prepare and approve layouts and drawings, and develop solutions for platforms, vessels, accommodation modules, and offshore facilities.
- Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, HVAC, fire and safety, and other disciplines.
- Review design bases, specifications, technical queries, RFIs, construction drawings, and engineering clarifications.
- Coordinate with class societies, EPC contractors, shipyards, clients, and consultants.
- Lead design reviews, resolve coordination issues, and maintain design intent during execution.
- Support proposals, estimates, technical scopes, schedules, deliverables, and technical guidance for engineering teams.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience, preferably in offshore, marine, shipbuilding, or oil and gas projects.
- Proven experience with offshore facilities, vessels, accommodation modules, marine structures, or shipyard projects.
- Good knowledge of offshore and marine design practices and applicable international standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant engineering or design software.
- Strong technical drawing, documentation, multidisciplinary coordination, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
- Classification society coordination with ABS, DNV, BV, LR, or similar is an advantage.
- UAE or GCC offshore or oil and gas experience is an advantage.
- Preferred technical exposure includes offshore platforms, jack-up units, semi-submersibles, drillships, accommodation units, marine vessels, shipyards, oil and gas facilities, and offshore EPC projects.
- Preferred technical exposure also includes class approval, escape and evacuation arrangements, and marine or offshore safety requirements.
