Role Overview
Join Capital One’s mobile platform engineering team as a Lead Android Engineer.
Set the pace for multiple mobile engineering teams and own fully native mobile applications.
What You’ll Do
- Write well-factored and well-tested Kotlin and Java code in Android applications and backend orchestration services.
- Use Android Studio and the wider Android toolset at enterprise scale.
- Develop and advocate for testing practices using JUnit, Espresso, pair programming, TDD and BDD.
- Use AWS cloud capabilities to support inner-sourcing and continuous improvement.
- Lead technical decisions, evaluate risks and communicate architecture choices to stakeholders.
- Coach and mentor more junior engineers and contribute to automated testing and deployment pipelines.
Technology Stack
- Kotlin and Java are used for Android applications and backend orchestration services.
- The Android toolset includes Android Studio.
- Testing technologies and practices include JUnit, Espresso, pair programming, TDD and BDD.
- AWS is used to support cloud opportunities, inner-sourcing and continuous improvement.
