Role overview
Lead ownership of the AI layer for a European travel operations business running group programmes across 23+ countries.
The role reports to the Director of IT and works directly with operations, sales, and product.
This is a production engineering role involving system design, coding, deployment, and operation after launch.
First 90 days
- Take ownership of live extraction and document-understanding pipelines and add evaluation and regression testing.
- Ship one new agent that removes a recurring manual workflow from an operations team.
- Deliver the first predictive model into production, likely for future price or booking forecasting.
Agentic AI
- Design and ship production agents for document and email understanding, structured extraction, and intelligent search.
- Build multi-agent orchestration for planning, task decomposition, memory, state management, and agent handoffs.
- Define backend tool schemas and function contracts with structured outputs and constrained decoding where required.
- Build RAG, embeddings, hybrid retrieval, and context-management systems for cost and accuracy.
- Implement retries, idempotency, fallback chains, and partial-failure handling so failures do not corrupt operational data.
