Lead Acoustic Design Engineer

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive noise studies using SoundPLAN and substation layouts.
• Evaluate emissions from transformers, reactors, cooling fans and pumps, and power electronics valves.
• Define noise targets using customer specifications and local environmental regulations.
• Design acoustic enclosures, noise barriers, damping materials, and optimized layouts.
• Perform indoor building acoustics and outdoor environmental noise propagation studies.
• Validate supplier noise data and support on-site measurements against simulation results.
• Standardize noise modelling practices and guide junior engineers and sales teams during bidding.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, acoustics, or electrical engineering focused on noise and vibration.
• Substantial lead-level acoustic design and noise study experience in high-voltage substations, industrial plants, or power systems.
