Position Summary

Operate and monitor laundry, dry-cleaning, and drying machinery while coordinating laundry requests for hotel departments.

The position is full time, non-management, and not remotely located.

Laundry Operations

  • Maintain accurate records of items laundered.
  • Verify that laundry requests are completed for each department.
  • Replenish laundry supplies.
  • Monitor chemical container levels and report potential pump problems.
  • Operate washing, dry-cleaning, and drying machinery, including adding chemicals and cleaning lint traps.
  • Inspect stained or damaged items and determine whether to repair, spot treat, rewash, or discard them.
  • Clean lint and debris from dryer screens, dry-cleaning filters, and drain traps after each load.

Team and Safety Duties

  • Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
  • Follow company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
  • Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, and injuries.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Inspect tools, equipment, and machines to identify defects.
  • Maintain quality expectations and standards.

Physical and Service Duties

  • Communicate clearly and professionally and develop positive working relationships with others.
  • Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
  • Protect confidential company information and company assets.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Work in narrow, confined, elevated, sloping, uneven, or slippery areas and use stairs or service ramps.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
  • No supervisory experience is required.
  • No license or certification is required.
