Job Purpose

  • The Laundry Operations Manager is responsible for leading and managing the full operations of a large scale industrial laundry facility with an estimated processing capacity of approximately 20 tons per day.
  • The role is accountable for operational efficiency, manpower management, production planning, quality assurance, health & safety compliance, equipment maintenance, customer satisfaction, and overall operational profitability.

Operations Management

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the laundry facility to ensure smooth and uninterrupted workflow.
  • Ensure the facility consistently achieves production targets and operational KPIs.
  • Monitor all laundry processes including sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, packaging, and dispatch.
  • Ensure operational efficiency while maintaining high quality service standards.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and best practices to improve productivity and service delivery.
  • Plan and organize production schedules based on customer demand and operational capacity.

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate operational teams including supervisors, technicians, machine operators, drivers, and laundry staff.
  • Conduct workforce planning to ensure proper staffing levels across all shifts.
  • Monitor employee productivity and performance.
  • Ensure proper onboarding, training, and development programs for operational staff.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement.
  • Handle employee grievances and disciplinary matters in coordination with the HR department.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all laundry items are processed according to quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Monitor garment handling procedures to minimize damages, losses, and rewash percentages.
  • Implement quality control measures and conduct regular inspections.
  • Address customer complaints related to laundry quality and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments within the facility.
  • Ensure employees follow proper PPE and safety procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with local labor laws and operational regulations.

Equipment & Maintenance Management

  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all laundry equipment and machinery.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams and suppliers to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Monitor machine efficiency and utility consumption including water, electricity, steam, and chemicals.
  • Ensure proper inventory management of chemicals, detergents, linen, and operational supplies.

Financial & Cost Control

  • Monitor operational expenses and ensure cost effective operations.
  • Control utility consumption and operational wastage.
  • Prepare operational reports, productivity analysis, and performance dashboards.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities for the laundry operation.

Customer Service & Business Support

  • Ensure customer delivery timelines and service level agreements (SLAs) are achieved.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and support business growth initiatives.
  • Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to ensure operational readiness for new business opportunities.
