Launch Manager - Artisan Center

This position is within General Motors’ Manufacturing Engineering organization, specifically the Global Artisan Innovation Center facilities, and is responsible for leading engineering, manufacturing, validation, quality, and supply chain efforts to ensure the successful execution of build events, and special projects. This role requires the ability to work collaboratively across many functions to drive program success. As an ACLM you will be responsible for the planning, readiness, execution, escalation, and the accurate reporting of status for every project/program managed. A strong sense of urgency, solid communication skills, and a collaborative work ethic are skills that will lend to success. You will be exposed to a large variety of corporate functions and staff through the process of performing your duties. As an ACLM, you will develop solid leadership skills that will become part of or further advance your skillset.

Develop the most cost-effective build strategy with your team

Coordinate virtual reality build events.

Engage global teams as required.

Lead all planning & readiness activities to support pre-production, low volume production and special projects as assigned.

Hold stakeholders accountable to the required deliverables

Manage change

Support quality processes

Issue identification and solution demonstrations

Support build floor activities

Daily production meetings

Easel board reviews

Escalation process

Build site direction communications (BSDs)

Continuous improvement endeavors

Assure test ready properties

Support GAIC program execution meetings (Timing Workshops, VAPIR, etc....)

Support achievement of Business Plan Deployment (BPD) objectives following Global Manufacturing System (GMS) principles

High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult

Good oral and written communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint presentation creations

High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others

Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others

Demonstrated ability to manage numerous issues and work on projects simultaneously

Demonstrated ability to lead and support cross functional team activities

Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job related area

Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or project management similar field
