Job description : LATHE MACHINE OPERATOR
A Lathe Machine Operator sets up, operates, and maintains manual lathes to shape metal, wood, or plastic components based on technical drawings and blueprints.
Key duties include interpreting blueprints, selecting tools, managing speed/feed rates, and conducting inspections with precision measuring tools to ensure parts meet specifications.
Key Responsibilities
· **Setup & Operation:** Configure and operate lathe machines for turning, boring, facing, drilling, and threading operations.
· **Blueprint Interpretation:** Read technical blueprints to determine dimensions, tolerances, and operational sequences.
· **Quality Inspection:** Use precision instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and gauges to verify finished parts.
· **Maintenance & Safety:** Perform routine maintenance on machines, resharpen tools, and maintain a safe, clean work area.
· **Troubleshooting:** Monitor machine performance and adjust speeds/feeds to correct inaccuracies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· **Experience:** Proven experience as a lathe operator or in a similar manufacturing role.
· **Technical Knowledge:** Proficiency in reading technical blueprints and understanding material properties.
· **Tools:** Knowledge of measuring instruments and machining tools.
· **Education:** High school diploma or equivalent (ITI or equivalent trade certificate preferred).
· **Physical Stamina:** Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials.
Common Work Environment
· Manufacturing or production workshops.
· Requires adherence to strict safety standards.
Pay: AED1,800.00 - AED2,000.00 per hour
