Job Overview

  • We are seeking a hands on Packaging Lab Technician to support our Packaging Engineering team by maintaining lab operations, equipment, and materials, while enabling efficient execution of testing and development activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain packaging lab functionality, cleanliness, and organization
  • Ensure all lab equipment is calibrated, maintained, and in proper working condition
  • Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and coordinate repairs as needed
  • Manage preventative maintenance schedules and calibration records
  • Ensure lab compliance with GMP and internal safety standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of lab safety and processes
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment including 3D printers, label printers, cutting tables for paperboard and corrugate, metrology and measurement equipment
  • Support rapid prototyping, mock ups, and sample preparation for development programs (primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging)
  • Partner with Packaging Engineers to execute testing protocols
  • Prepare test samples, run equipment, and document results
  • Ensure testing materials and supplies are available and ready for use
  • Manage lab inventory, including consumables and spare parts

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Packaging, or related field (or equivalent hands on experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in a lab, manufacturing, or technical support environment
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Experience with packaging materials (rigid plastics, film, paperboard, corrugate) preferred
  • Familiarity with lab equipment calibration and maintenance preferred
  • Experience with 3D printing or prototyping tools preferred
  • Exposure to ArtiosCAD or willingness to learn preferred
  • Experience with inventory management systems preferred

Total Rewards

  • 19.47 USD hourly 24.80 USD hourly
  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors
