Laboratory Operations Manager

Role overview

Location and availability

• The description lists Bengaluru and Hosur as possible work locations.
• Immediate availability is requested.

Experience and education

• 6 to 12 years of experience in testing laboratories, quality, or environmental testing, with exposure to lab operations and team management.
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field is required.
• Good understanding of testing standards, laboratory operations, and quality systems is required.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 is preferred.

Testing and customer coordination

• Plan, schedule, and monitor testing activities for timely execution and effective resource utilization.
• Manage test slot bookings, customer updates, queries, clarifications, and escalations.
• Review and approve SRFs, track samples, and monitor test program execution.
• Coordinate with operations, delivery, finance, and sales teams on test programs.

Maintenance and quality

• Plan preventive and breakdown maintenance and coordinate with AMC or service teams.
• Implement quality objectives, maintain quality systems, and ensure standards compliance.
• Identify and manage non-conforming work, perform root cause analysis, and implement CAPA.
• Plan equipment calibration and maintain calibration records and traceability.

People and technical oversight

• Allocate manpower, manage shifts, and ensure skilled resource availability.
• Review, verify, and approve test reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Provide technical guidance on test setup, execution, troubleshooting, data recording, and interpretation.
• Identify training needs, evaluate team performance, and support competency development.

Documentation, safety, and improvement

• Maintain records, logbooks, utilization data, and audit readiness.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and safe handling of laboratory equipment.
• Address customer complaints, minimize delays, and support timely service delivery.
• Drive initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance quality and productivity.
