The Laboratory Assistant 2 - Float is responsible for performing waived laboratory testing (i.e., rapid strep, flu, urine dips, etc.); interpreting, documenting, and reporting test results; performing EKG’s and POC testing (i.e.
PT/INR, glucometer, etc.) under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures.
The Laboratory Assistant 2 - Float provides point of entry for all specimens coming into the laboratory.
Collects, labels, processes, and distributes patient specimens for testing; is responsible for registration and test data entry; monitors supply levels in specimen processing area and collection units; performs additional clinical duties as required.
Reports to the Laboratory Manager or Supervisor.
