Laboratory Assistant I

You are organized, adaptable, and can work effectively under pressure. Able to prioritize tasks and manage your time, you have technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills necessary in medical laboratories today. You are comfortable working independently and as part of a team, you can develop and maintain positive working relationships with your colleagues and other healthcare professionals you may interact with. You have good judgement and decision-making skills and will conduct yourself according to the Alberta Health Services Code of Conduct and the APL Values of Kindness, Inclusion, Innovation, Agility, and Accuracy. This position works Monday and Fridays 0700-1345. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 0700-1315. As well as one 6.25 shift every third Saturday between the hours of 0700-1530

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
