Lab Aide

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.

Must be at least 18 years of age at date of hire.

Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Successful completion of junior or senior year of high school; no previous experience required.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to biology and/or biochemistry

Experience in pipetting

Basic understanding of scientific methodology

Interest in learning or the ability to run and troubleshoot protein assays

Interest in learning laboratory management

Available to work on Saturdays and Sundays as needed

Familiarity to process biochemical data using scientific software (e.g., Word, Powerpoint, Prism, SPSS & Excel)

Comfort working with mice and careful evaluation of mouse behaviors
