Position Purpose

Maintain kitchen, refrigeration, laundry, and related hotel equipment so that all equipment remains in proper working condition.

Support reliable hotel operations through timely repairs, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety inspections.

Maintenance and Repairs

  • Perform major and minor repairs on hot cooking, refrigeration, kitchen, and laundry equipment.
  • Complete preventive and corrective maintenance activities and record them accordingly.
  • Troubleshoot equipment in restaurants, back-of-house areas, kitchens, laundry areas, and other hotel locations.
  • Coordinate and prioritize repair tasks to provide timely repairs and reduce equipment downtime.

Electrical, Gas, and Lighting Systems

  • Repair and maintain electrical and gas-operated equipment to a high standard.
  • Maintain lighting in laundry and kitchen areas, including cold rooms and refrigerators.
  • Inspect and verify the operation and safety of commercial kitchen appliances.

Compliance and Records

  • Complete routine checklists for kitchen compliance with HACCP and hygiene standards.
  • Update daily performance information and follow up in the log book.
  • Maintain records of preventive maintenance, corrective work, inspections, and equipment condition.

Inventory and Team Support

  • Assist the Duty Engineer with restocking essential workshop consumables and materials.
  • Order and maintain inventory of equipment spare parts as needed.
  • Attend new equipment training and demonstrate safe equipment use and operation to team members.
  • Work assigned shifts and assist other technicians or engineering sections as directed.

Required Knowledge

  • Knowledge of commercial refrigeration and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to maintain kitchen, refrigeration, electrical, gas-operated, and laundry equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to follow HACCP and hygiene standards and inspect appliances for safe operation.
