A line cook prepares, cooks, and plates menu items according to chef specifications in a specific station.
They are the backbone of a restaurant, managing ingredient preparation, ensuring food quality, and maintaining strict safety and sanitation standards in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- **Station Setup & Breakdown:** Set up your assigned kitchen station (e.g., grill, fry, pantry) with all necessary supplies, and break it down at the end of the shift.
- **Food Preparation:** Chop vegetables, meat preparation, and prepare sauces and other ingredients prior to service.
- **Cooking & Plating:** Cook food to exact recipes and temperatures, and plate dishes for presentation according to restaurant standards.
- **Inventory & Stocking:** Monitor stock levels at your station, restock ingredients during your shift, and properly date and store leftovers.
- **Sanitation & Hygiene:** Maintain a clean work area, wash cooking utensils, and comply with all food health and safety regulations to prevent cross-contamination.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- **Culinary Knowledge:** Strong understanding of various cooking methods (sautéing, broiling, frying) and knife skills.
- **Multitasking & Speed:** Ability to manage multiple food orders quickly without sacrificing quality under high-pressure conditions.
- **Teamwork:** Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with other line cooks, expeditors, and waitstaff.
- **Physical Stamina:** Ability to stand for long shifts and work in a hot, fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a high-volume fast food kitchen is required.
- Valid food handler's certificate
- Valid QID at least 6 months
- 3 years minimum experience as Line Cook
Free Transportation
Pay: QAR1,500.00 - QAR2,000.00 per month
