Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients
- Wash dishes, kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and equipment promptly
- Clean and sanitize kitchen workstations, floors, walls, storage areas, and equipment
- Receive and properly store food supplies according to FIFO procedures
- Dispose of kitchen waste and maintain cleanliness in waste disposal areas
- Refill kitchen supplies and notify supervisor when stock is low
- Assist with unloading deliveries and organizing storage areas
- Support the kitchen team during food preparation and service as instructed
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
- Follow all company policies, health and safety regulations, and kitchen procedures
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant is an advantage but not mandatory
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and lift moderate loads
- Willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays

Job Summary
- The Kitchen Helper is responsible for supporting the kitchen team by maintaining cleanliness, preparing basic food ingredients, washing utensils and equipment, and assisting in daily kitchen operations. The role ensures that hygiene, food safety, and company standards are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation, such as washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients.
- Wash dishes, kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and equipment promptly.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen workstations, floors, walls, storage areas, and equipment.
- Receive and properly store food supplies according to FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Dispose of kitchen waste and maintain cleanliness in waste disposal areas.
- Refill kitchen supplies and notify the supervisor when stock is running low.
- Assist with unloading deliveries and organizing storage areas.
- Support the kitchen team during food preparation and service as instructed.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Follow all company policies, health and safety regulations, and kitchen procedures.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Kitchen Supervisor or Head Chef.
Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent is preferred.
