Local driving may be required when performing workstation refreshes or supporting remote facilities.
Technicians may transport approximately 2–3 computer systems in a personal vehicle.
Approximate maximum equipment value transported at one time is $3,000 .
Equipment transportation could occur daily , depending on deployment activity.
Typical travel distance between locations averages approximately 20 miles .
Larger quantities of equipment should follow appropriate organizational/SOX controls rather than being transported routinely by an individual technician.
Some locations may also have access to Kaiser Permanente fleet vehicles. Technicians would need to complete the applicable training/certification requirements before operating a KP vehicle.
The strongest candidate is likely a junior Desktop Support Technician, PC Technician, IT Support Technician, Deployment Technician, Field Services Technician, or Workstation Technician who already has hands-on experience working with Windows computers.
For resume review, I would favor candidates who have physically imaged, configured, deployed, replaced, and troubleshot PCs rather than candidates whose experience is primarily phone-based help desk support.
Someone coming from a large-scale Windows 10/11 refresh, hardware deployment, desktop migration, or field-services project could be particularly strong because this role involves significant workstation deployment and asset activity.
An advanced systems administrator or network engineer would likely be overqualified unless they are specifically interested in a hands-on workstation support position.
