Role overview
The Thomson Reuters Foundation is seeking a Junior Web Developer for its Product & Technology team.
The role initially focuses on WordPress development for public-facing websites and content platforms.
The developer will work with the Lead Web Developer and wider ProductTech colleagues.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and improve WordPress websites, including Gutenberg themes, templates, blocks, and content features.
- Implement features, resolve bugs, test changes, and contribute to releases under technical guidance.
- Develop with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL-based systems, and relevant web technologies.
- Participate in code reviews, quality assurance, accessibility checks, browser testing, and regression testing.
- Maintain technical documentation, release notes, and implementation notes.
- Learn and apply new technologies and frameworks as the digital portfolio evolves.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree is required.
- At least 2-4 years of relevant experience is required.
- Good working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Some PHP and WordPress experience, or strong evidence of the ability to learn quickly in this area.
