Role Overview
The Thomson Reuters Foundation is seeking a Junior Web Developer for its Product & Technology team.
The role focuses initially on WordPress development for public-facing websites and content platforms, with future opportunities to work on React, JavaScript, and other technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve WordPress websites, including custom Gutenberg themes, templates, blocks, and content features.
- Implement features, resolve bugs, test changes, and contribute to releases under the guidance of the Lead Web Developer.
- Write maintainable HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP while following coding standards and security practices.
- Translate design, product, and stakeholder requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Support front-end development, database work, version control, code reviews, documentation, and quality assurance.
- Perform browser and device checks, accessibility reviews, regression testing, and release documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree is required.
- At least 2–4 years of relevant experience.
- Good working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Some experience with PHP and WordPress development, or strong evidence of the ability to learn quickly in this area.
