Junior Sous Chef

Position Summary

Kitchen Responsibilities

• Create decorative food displays and ensure proper food arrangement and garnish.
• Monitor prepared food quantity and quality and notify the manager of specification issues.
• Inform food and beverage staff about menu specials and unavailable menu items.
• Prepare special meals or substitute items and assist cooks with kitchen tasks.
• Monitor kitchen supplies and food stock and maintain food safety and product logs.

Team and Guest Service

• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
• Address guest service needs and communicate clearly and professionally with others.
• Develop positive working relationships and support the team in reaching common goals.

Workplace and Physical Requirements

• The position is based at The Pearl Island, Doha, Qatar, and is not remote.
• The role requires extended standing, sitting, or walking, as well as bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• The role requires moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
• 4 to 6 years of related work experience is preferred.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
• No license or certification is specified.
