Position Summary

  • Spinneys, the UAE’s leading premium food retailer, is seeking a proactive and detail oriented Junior Quality Assurance (QA) Officer to join our Food Manufacturing division in Dubai.
  • This role is vital in ensuring the effective implementation of our Food Safety Management System (FSMS), supporting compliance activities, and maintaining product and process quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and verify production processes, critical control points (CCPs), hygiene practices, and FSMS compliance.
  • Investigate quality issues and customer complaints, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Conduct internal training sessions and induction programs on food safety and hygiene for new and existing staff.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, health and safety risk assessments, and mock recall exercises.
  • Collaborate with production and QA Technologists to update SOPs, flowcharts, and training materials.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including food safety reports, non conformance records, cleaning schedules, and meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and third party service providers to address quality issues and ensure alignment with QA standards.
  • Provide support to the Hygiene team in the absence of the Hygiene Supervisor and assist in driving food safety awareness initiatives.
  • Submit weekly reports and contribute to continuous improvement efforts in product and process quality.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a quality assurance role within food manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP principles, GMP, food safety regulations, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Proven ability to train and guide operational teams on food safety and hygiene protocols.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate across departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, mentor QC officers, and lead quality initiatives on the factory floor.
  • A collaborative and hands on approach, with a keen eye for identifying gaps and driving continuous improvement.
