Role overview
POOJA ASSOCATES is seeking a Junior Procurement Manager for day-to-day procurement activities supporting construction projects.
The role is based in Guwahati, Assam, within the building construction and civil engineering industry.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain material procurement MIS sheets covering enquiries, quotations, orders, deliveries, and payments.
- Search local and online markets for products, brands, suppliers, and competitive rates.
- Compare vendor quotations and prepare comparative statements.
- Negotiate price, quality, credit terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Coordinate material specifications and quantities with Site Engineers and Project Managers.
- Follow up with vendors for timely delivery to project sites.
- Maintain vendor databases, purchase records, rate histories, and supplier details.
- Identify approved equivalent products for cost optimization and assist with purchase orders.
- Track pending requirements and critical materials affecting project progress.
- Maintain warehouse stock entries for incoming and outgoing materials in MIS.
Required skills
- Basic knowledge of civil and construction materials is required.
- Good negotiation and communication skills are required.
