Junior Maintenance Technician - Cargo

Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain good housekeeping in workshops and other work areas and take proper care of tools.
• Assist with diagnosing and repairing faults on equipment, vehicles, and plant to minimize downtime.
• Record shift activities and completed work in log books, work orders, and maintenance management systems.
• Follow standard safety procedures to prevent personal injury and damage to equipment, vehicles, and plant.
• Inform maintenance technicians about required spare parts and tools.
• Assist with scheduled maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations, ISO requirements, safety standards, and legal requirements.
• Inspect equipment, vehicles, and plant for operational reliability and safety and support corrective maintenance planning.
• Complete allocated ULD repair and assembly activities according to MOE, manufacturer, EASA, GCAA, and safety standards.
• Assist with facility equipment maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, GPU, PCA, and generators.

Required Qualifications

• A two-year trade certificate in an engineering discipline is required.
• At least three years of maintenance experience in facilities, automotive, electrical, civil, or mechanical work within a large maintenance organization is required.
• Experience in aviation ground support or cargo handling is advantageous.

Additional Considerations

• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, automobile, air-conditioning, or refrigeration systems is advantageous.
• Experience with ground support equipment or heavy vehicles is advantageous.
• Specialized training in hydraulics, lifting equipment, conveyors, material handling equipment, PLCs, motor controls, or traction batteries is advantageous.
• English communication ability, a driving licence, and an ADP equipment operating licence are additional considerations; licences are not required in cargo areas.
