Job Summary

As a Junior HSE Advisor you will support several projects and facilities to meet the requirements of the Health, Safety and Environment Management systems.

The role will also involve assisting the site teams and managers by recognizing hazards through inspection and seeking to minimize risks while creating, maintaining, and improving the health, safety, environmental standards.

You will support and monitor HSE initiatives in the workplace, ensuring that legislation is adhered to, and fostering a better work environment while being a leader and advocate for safety in the workplace.

Develop comprehensive hazard assessments, job practices, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

1 – 3 years of practical occupational health and safety experience in the workplace.
OHS certification is desirable.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset.
Knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Legislation.
Ability to interpret and explain legislation, regulations, rules, and policies/procedures.
Proven ability to identify and proactively resolve issues in a timely manner.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely at all organizational levels.
Resourcefulness and the capacity to work independently, managing time effectively.
Working level understanding of basic health and safety functions, including hazard identification, incident investigations, and ergonomics.
Effective communicate by phone, email and/or text.
Able to use Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
