Role overview
Flex is hiring a Junior Engineer - Quality in Chennai to support supplier quality and manufacturing improvement activities.
The role works with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and quality teams to meet product and process requirements.
Responsibilities
- Define supplier process parameters and assess supplier manufacturing capabilities and health, safety, and environmental risks.
- Support supplier quality for new product launches, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvement.
- Prepare inspection results, control plan records, PPAP documentation, product warrant submissions, and First Article Inspection validation.
- Monitor supplier performance, report KPIs, escalate unresolved quality issues, and support audit readiness.
- Use Lean, Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, Measurement System Analysis, and PFMEA techniques for continuous improvement.
- Participate in cross-functional product development, benchmarking, data analytics, special projects, and progress reporting.
Experience and qualifications
- B.E. or B.Tech in ECE, EEE, Instrumentation and Control, Mechanical, or Mechatronics.
- 0-2 years of experience with APQP, PPAP, and FMEA in a manufacturing environment, preferably EMS.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, quality and business systems, TS16949, measurement techniques, and manufacturing processes.
